Golf's verdict: Dylan's backing band come of age with a debut that features 3 of his songs. But the strongest track by far is 'The Weight', a classic the moment it was recorded.
Maire's verdict: Thoroughly enjoyed this.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! What '70s US New Wave music sounds like basically. A fantastic clash of 50s rock n' roll and '70s post punk. Close to all killer, no filler.
Maire's verdict: Easy listening but in a good way.

Golf's verdict: One of those bands that has an absolutely unique sound. I was not familiar with this album, but own several others. This one makes you want to go out and buy their back catalogue.
Maire's verdict: Gorgeous voice and great tracks. When I hear them I generally think I should listen to more of their stuff but never actually do. Need to change that.

The Stranglers - Rattus Norvegicus (1977)
All songs credited as written by the Stranglers.
- Side A
1. "Sometimes" (4:56)
2. "Goodbye Toulouse" (3:12)
3. "London Lady" (2:25)
4. "Princess of the Streets" (4:34)
5. "Hanging Around" (4:25)
- Side B
6. "Peaches" (4:03)
7. "(Get A) Grip (On Yourself)" (3:55)
8. "Ugly" (4:03)
9. "Down in the Sewer" (7:30)
Golf's verdict: Every song delivered with swagger. Another band that sounds like no other and that no other bands sound like. This is mainly down to Jean-Jacques Burnel's bass and Dave Greenfield's swirling organ, but also (at least until 1990) Hugh Cornwell's snarling delivery. 'Hanging Around', '(Get A) Grip (On Yourself)' and - of course - 'Peaches'.
Maire's verdict: Never a massive Stranglers fan although I know a few people who are obsessed. 'Peaches' is the most well known track (at least to me) and always worth a listen.
