Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Mainly for 'Release the Pressure' and 'Open Up', I confess. But what tunes they are!
Maire's verdict: Some good tracks but seemed very long.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Finally cracked this one, at about the 10th attempt (over the years). Very reminiscent of The Who, Kinks and Small Faces. They were contemporaries of the Stones and - at one time - considered the safer bet for superstardom.
Maire's verdict: Didn't really get into this album - reminded me a lot of The Who. Golf seems to have really rated it so may have to re-listen at some point (probably in the far-distant future....)

Golf's verdict: 'Lilac Wine' and the title track are real highlights and the rest are good too, but nothing to compare to 'Sinnerman' and her other timeless classics.
Maire's verdict: A very pleasant listen.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! I suspect that is about 4 Gems in a row for Elvis' late 70s and early 80s output. One of the genuine (and genuinely pleasant) surprises of this 1031 album challenge.
Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! I used to say I wasn't a fan of Elvis Costello but that's changed since we started the challenge. Loved this album and probably need to reassess the others also.

Golf's verdict: Took me back. Used to listen to these and early Red Hot Chillies, along with The Dead Kennedys and Disposable Heroes of Hip-hopracy. Highly recommended.
Maire's verdict: A fun album but no more than that.
