Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Pastoral English genius from Partridge and Moulding. Lovingly produced by Todd Rundgren (on the evidence of this challenge a better producer than he is performer).
Maire's verdict: I really rather enjoyed this. Very pleasant for a morning bus commute. Will listen to it again, I'm sure, but not an urgent requirement.

Golf's verdict: Doesn't sound anything like the Velvet Underground, which I imagine was the point and probably a great relief to Maire. Speaking of producers (see above) John C produced the next band's debut...
Maire's verdict: Wasn't that interested.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Their eponymous debut is my favourite, but this, their last real album until returning very recently, is a close second. Bowie was behind the desk for this one and his influence shows.
Maire's verdict: Great fun.

Golf's verdict: Britain's least celebrated guitar genius (potentially), largely on account of persisting in toeing the folk and acoustic line (as well as a significant habit). Highly enjoyable.
Maire's verdict: Enjoyed it far more than I was expecting, which was nice.
