Golf's verdict: Other than Season of the Witch, this is typically drippy, sitar-infused hippy fayre from "Britain's Dylan' (as he was known for about 5 minutes). Overall, he's responsible for some good stuff - often improved by cover versions. Just not here. Brian Auger & The Trinity's version of Season is superior and track down the Butthole Surfer's version of Hurdy Gurdy Man to hear how psychedelia should really be done!

Maire's verdict: 'Legend of a Girl Child Linda' and 'Guinevere' were a chore. The rest was bland.

Golf's verdict: Forgotten how 'white soul-boy' this sounds, especially given their roots in The Human League. Another strong reaction to the excesses of Thatcherism, this has not fared so well as Infected by The The (see Day 37), but Fascist Groove Thang still brings a smile.

Maire's verdict: 'Temptation' is a classic song that is guaranteed to get me, Golf and quite a few friends on the dance floor / singing. Unfortunately it's not on this record. This is definitely '80s but I enjoyed it more for the nostalgia rather than wanting to own it.

Golf's verdict: 14 tracks, less than 30 minutes. Most of them disposable, forgettable buzzsaw pop-punk. Occasionally a classic like Blitzkrieg Pop or Judy Is a Punk. Play it once, then play it again.

Maire's verdict: Some great tracks on this album with 'Blitzkrieg Bop' being a personal favourite. Short but sweet.

Golf's verdict: Would have given up on this half way through if not required to listen, but by the last few tracks I began to see some method in the madness of an entire album mainly consisting of soundscapes created by a cacophony of voices. Sadly, I have never been able to stomach too much of Bjork's octave bridging yodeling and that's still a bit too prominent for me on this one. Loved The Sugarcubes though...

Maire's verdict: We have a very good friend who adores Björk. I know her hits but haven't paid much attention to her albums. I have a feeling this is a grower that I could come to really enjoy or, on the other hand, it could get annoying very fast. I guess repeated listening will tell.
