Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! 'Levi Stubbs' is one of my all time favourite singles of all time, so this was always going to get a warm welcome from me. Billy's best album.

Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Great songs on a great album.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Not sure they needed to include 'Danny Boy', but other than that (and perhaps the rather pedestrian interpretation of Personal Jesus) this is just all good. Even has a Nick Cave duet on it!

Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Probably my favourite version of 'Hurt' (and I'm a huge Nine Inch Nails fan) is on this album and so many more great tracks. Love it.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Features a very fine line of between song patter from Mr Waits, as well as a set of very fine jazz/blues tunes delivered as only he can deliver them.

Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! If this challenge has done one great thing it's introducing me to the wonder of Tom Waits over and above his debut (which I already loved). He's a genius despite this being jazz.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! An absolute delight from start to finish. Once, when I was a pimply youth who knew no better, I left a John Martyn gig at the Bristol Colston Hall after my favourite band-of-the-moment (Bristol's finest, The Blue Aeroplanes) played their support slot. What an idiot!

Maire's verdict: Rather enjoyable.
