Golf's verdict: 'Animal' needs a health warning as it has one of the catchiest choruses of all time. It took me about 15 years to get it out of my head from the 80s and now it's back!. Full of plenty of other finely produced, catchy hair-metal. The famous ex-Shania Twain husband, producer Mutt Lange, demonstrates he has a bit of golden touch for the radio friendly hit, whatever the genre.

Maire's verdict: A fine example of 1980s hair rock and a fun blast from the past. I got this cassette for Christmas one year - mom had gone into the local record store asking for the mad album by The Lions or The Tigers....

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Ruthlessly produced to engineer a hell of a lot of funk into his previously otherwise more cult rock sound, this sounds great despite its 80s vintage. Features many of his greatest tracks and also 'Sledgehammer', his biggest hit but least representative song.

Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! I'm not a Peter Gabriel fan (I particularly can't stand his time as the Genesis singer) so was rather shocked to enjoy this as much as I did. 'Don't Give Up' is just gorgeous.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM!
Everyone should have to listen to 'Blue Eyed Pop' at least once a week. If they did then the world would be a much happier place.

Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! I knew of them when they were around but never really listened to them. I loved it despite finding the male 'singer' a bit irritating when he appeared (thankfully rarely).
