Golf's verdict: I am a big fan of this band but it is a bit perverse to only include their least well known and lowest selling album on the list. Having said that, all the recognisable tropes of QOTSA are in place: unique guitar tones, thunderous rhythm section and great vocals from the ginger Elvis, Josh Homme. Would recommend 'Rated R', 'Songs for the Deaf' or '...Like Clockwork' ahead of this one though.

Maire's verdict: I know Golf loves QofSA - for some unknown reason he rated them higher than Nine Inch Nails when they played a double headliner a couple of years back. To me they just sound like they're playing the same few songs over and over again. The exception is 'No One Knows' which is a brilliant song and unfortunately not on this album.

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Relatively little known and obscure but a favourite of many musicians and music writers. A lovely, gentle and engaging record that has a sound all of its own.

Maire's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! Never heard the album before. Shame as I loved it.

Golf's verdict: Sold about a billion copies from memory and she does have a great voice. Plays it safe with some standards and a few of her own. Uppermost is the title track, which does have some real staying power.

Maire's verdict: I was surprised I enjoy this as much as I did as was never a fan of the title song. Gorgeous voice.
