Golf's verdict: Some wholesome slices of pure pop served Scandinavian style, but none more perfectly poppy than Lovefool. I heard it about a million time in 1996/7 but it was actually quite pleasant to hear it again. I also owned this album back then but not a single other track was familiar.

Maire's verdict: I'd forgotten about The Cardigans, to be honest, despite 'Lovefool' being such a huge hit back in the day. Pleasant enough to listen to but that's still the stand out track.

Golf's verdict: I think over a number of listens I could really get to like this. I do own it, but it never got much action on the CD player and on today's listening it offered up some intriguing bits and pieces. Enough to get put onto the 'play again' pile. Includes a cover of Motorhead by Motorhead that you need to hear.

Maire's verdict: I've heard better tunes from Primal Scream. Fine but not amazing.

Golf's verdict: As a child of the '80s when it comes to music there is not much I hear these days from that era that I really hate. That is the thing about nostalgia, it softens your critical faculties. So in this case, whilst it will never be something I would buy or listen to by choice, I must admit I did actually enjoy hearing a few of these tunes sung by the ginger whinger.

Maire's verdict: Not as deeply unpleasant as I was expecting. Still not going to listen to it again though.
