Golf's verdict: Definitely a taste that - if ever acquired - certainly needs more than one listen. God knows what Maire will make of this. She liked Safe As Milk (Captain B's debut), but this is about as similar to that as Marilyn Manson is to Mansun. I've heard it about 25 times now and I can understand why it is so highly regarded, but it is a pretty gruelling experience!
Máire's verdict: What the fuck is this? My ears are bleeding and I’ve almost lost the will to live. Who listens to this shit and why is it on the list?

Golf's verdict: HIDDEN GEM! An early hip-hop classic, full of hooks and happiness.

Golf's verdict: Great hip-hop album from the man who mentored Eminem and turned him into the rap-Elvis. Shows enough on here to demonstrate he could and should have crossed over to become a much bigger artist.
Máire's verdict: I enjoyed it - very melodic - but not a fan of some of the lyrics....

Elis Regina - Vento de Maio (1978)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elis_Regina
Golf's verdict: This lady was a legend in Brazil, but the album is so little-known that - almost uniquely for this challenge - it does not have a Wikipedia page. So, the picture above is not the album cover, just an image of Elis, who tragically died at only 36. This is a pleasant mix of samba, bossa nova and other Brazilian styles. Not my go-to genre, but pleasant enough.
Máire's verdict: Middle of the road.
